Performances & Booking Information
Milnthorpe Steel Band offers a wide variety of performances throughout the year—from workshops and taster sessions to festive gigs around Christmas. Most of our appearances take place at weekends, as we’re a community band made up of local people who balance their musical passion with full-time jobs.
We’re not a professional band, but we take great pride in our performances and love bringing joyful steel pan music to events of all kinds.

If you’ve got an event in mind, chances are we can do it—just no marching, please!
Space Requirements
We’re a large band with big instruments, so we require a performance area of approximately 6 metres by 6 metres with minimal flexibility. If you're unsure whether your venue meets this requirement, feel free to contact us and we'll happily discuss options.
Wet Weather Plans
All of our instruments are handcrafted from metal and are highly valuable, so they must be kept dry at all times. To ensure protection in case of rain, we come prepared with two gazebos, each measuring 3 metres by 6 metres.
If your venue doesn’t allow for suitable outdoor cover or space, we kindly ask that indoor space is available as a backup. Without adequate shelter, we may need to cancel at a cost of £100 —something we work hard to avoid.
Planning Ahead
We receive a high volume of booking requests, especially during the summer months. To avoid disappointment, we recommend sending your enquiry as early as possible.
